CATS Adoption Process

Before you embark on making a firm decision to open up your home to a rescue cat there are a few things to consider. This includes the cost of feeding, insurance, vet bills, neutering (if applicable), vaccinating, dental treatment, etc.

Do you have time to spend in play and companionship of your 4 legged friend?

Do you live in an area safe for a cat to venture out or would it be more suited to a indoor lifestyle?

Taking any animal into your care should not be taken lightly and it is a decision that should be cherished and given due consideration. Any commitment you make to a rescued cat or indeed any animal is a life long commitment. Are you will to care for this cute bundle of fluff for the next 20 - 30years? through good and bad health? and to provide adequate care and nutrition as well as an abundance of love?

If you believe you can then we would ask you to contact our homing centre which is based in Cupar, Fife. To view our contact page click here.

On speaking with rescue centre staff you will be asked a number of questions pertaining to your background with animals, your daily routine, socialising, other animals at home and the ages of any children you may have.

This process is not to pry but to identify what your lifestyle is and to analyse this against the cats we have in our care at that given time. This will, in turn, allow us to identify any possible matches for not only you but also the cat.

If we do not have any cats suitable at the current time then your form will be kept on file for use at a later date and saves you from having to go through all of this information once again at your next enquiry.

Not all cats do well in certain environments and we have to use the knowledge and experience we have gained over the last 18 years to identify the most suitable match.

You will be asked to attend one of our homing centres for a meeting and may even meet the cat(s) in question. At this time all further steps will be explained to you and you have an opportunity to discuss concerns, issues or questions with staff.

We will always do our best to be open, honest, fair and helpful. If you have any questions at all then do not hesitate to contact one of our rehoming centres.
