Who Are Cupar CATS

CATS Founder Jan Liddle After a Long Day Trapping FeralsCATS - Cupar Animal Trust Shelter was founded by Janeen Liddle, who after working in Cat Rescue for other organisations
for over 15 years decided to
open her own shelter for unwanted, stray and mistreated cats.

Through her hard work and dedication CATS opened its doors in 1992 supporting approximately 10 unwanted, stray or mistreated cats and kittens. Over the last 17 years Janeen Liddle expanded the sanctuary to cater for approximately 60 cats at any one time.

Co Founder, Tom Liddle says "Due to the high numbers of unwanted animals in the Fife area the shelter operates at around 90% capacity most times of the year. Because we operate a NO KILL policy, older animals or those with minor health problems will stay with us for the remainder of their life. As much as we love saving each animal it does put a strain on our limited budget and we rely entirely on the kind donations of the public to stay open."

Sadly, Janeen Liddle passed away after a long illness in February 2008 and Cupar CATS continues its work for the stray, abandoned and mistreated cats of Fife in her memory.

We are very sure that Janeen continues to watch over her feline flock from above.
